Notarised Academic Transcript Translation in Singapore

Your academic transcript is the long list of every subject you took, term by term, with your grade for each one. When a school, an office or a board in Singapore cannot read it, they ask for an English copy they can trust. Our notarised academic transcript translation gives them that. A trained translator writes the English version, and a Notary Public registered with the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) signs and seals it.

We work on transcripts from universities, polytechnics and colleges in more than 200 languages. That includes Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia, German and French. Long transcripts with many pages are normal for us.

Most transcripts are ready in 2 to 3 working days. If you are in a hurry, ask for our 24-hour express service. You get a soft copy by email first. Then we courier the hard copy to you in Singapore, or you can collect it at Suntec Tower One.

Tell us who will read your transcript, and we will tell you what you need before you pay. The quote is free. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, PayNow or PayLah. If the office asks us to change something in our translation, we fix it for free.

Who needs it

A Transcript Translation With Notary Seal Helps These Applicants

Many offices want to see how you did in each subject, not just your final result. That is when they ask for a transcript translation with a notary seal. Here are the people who ask us most, with one tip for each.

Most requested

ICA PR application

ICA may ask for your transcript to see your full study record. If you send other school papers too, tell us which ones ICA listed so we only translate those.

Good to know

ICA citizenship and Student's Pass

People who studied overseas often add their transcript to these forms. Keep every page in the same order as the original so the officer can follow it.

Good to know

  • Pages in original order
  • Front and back scanned
  • Same name on every page

Master's or further study abroad

Overseas universities read your subjects to decide if you can join a course. Some want an apostille on the notarised set, so ask them first.

Good to know

Professional boards in Singapore

Boards for nurses, doctors, engineers and teachers may check the subjects you studied. They want each course title in clear English, close to the original.

Good to know

  • Board's own form
  • Course titles kept close
  • Hours and credits shown

Credit transfer to a new school

When you move schools, the new one compares your old subjects with its own. A full transcript translation helps it give you credit for what you already passed.

Good to know

  • Course codes kept
  • Credit points shown
  • Grading key included

Jobs and visas in other countries

Some foreign embassies and employers ask for your transcript in English with a notary seal. A few also want legalisation after that.

Good to know

Not sure if the office wants the whole transcript or only a few pages? Send us their letter. We read it with the same care we give every notarised translation for ICA applications.

Foreign Transcript Layouts Covered by Our Singapore Notary Translations

Transcripts look very different from country to country. Some are one long table. Some have a grading key on the back. Each one below can become a notary public translation of your transcript that keeps the same rows and columns.

China

成绩单 (Chengji Dan)

A table of subjects, hours, scores and terms. We keep each score as written, like 85 or 优秀 (excellent).

Japan

成績証明書 (Seiseki Shomeisho)

Marks like 秀, 優, 良 and 可 get their English meaning, and the original mark stays.

South Korea

성적증명서 (Seongjeok Jeungmyeongseo)

We keep the credit count, the A+ to F letter grades and the GPA line.

Vietnam

Bảng điểm

A score list out of 10 or 4. We keep every score and translate each subject name.

Indonesia

Transkrip Nilai / Transkrip Akademik

Shows SKS credits and IPK (GPA). We explain these short forms in plain English.

Thailand

ใบแสดงผลการศึกษา (Transcript of Records)

Often has Thai and some English on the same page. We translate every Thai part.

Germany

Notenspiegel / Transcript of Records

German grades go from 1.0 (best) to 5.0. We keep each number and translate the scale on the paper.

France

Relevé de notes

Marks out of 20 with ECTS credits. We keep both exactly as they are.

Russia and Ukraine

Приложение к диплому (Grade Supplement)

The grade list that comes with a diploma. We translate every subject line and its hours.

What we match

One Wrong Credit Can Spoil a Notarised Transcript Translation

A transcript is full of small numbers. One wrong digit can change your GPA. In every notary-stamped transcript translation, we check these parts line by line.

Your name and student number

Your name follows your passport, and your student ID is copied digit by digit.

Course codes and subject titles

Each code stays as written, and each title gets a plain, faithful English name.

Grades and the grading key

Every grade is kept, and the key that explains the grades is translated too.

Credits, hours and GPA

Credit points, hours, GPA and CGPA are copied exactly, with no rounding.

Terms, years and dates

Semesters, school years and the issue date stay in the same order as the original.

Stamps, seals and signatures

Each stamp, seal and signature is described in brackets, so nothing on the page is lost.

What gets a transcript translation sent back

  • Leaving out the grading key on the back page
  • Skipping rows or pages that look empty
  • Using a free online tool with no translator check

How we keep your transcript right

  • Same table layout as the original
  • Every page and every row translated
  • Names checked against your passport
  • Notarial certificate joined to the set

Each office sets its own rules for transcripts. ICA, for example, lists on ica.gov.sg the kinds of translations it accepts, and a translation notarised by a Notary Public in Singapore is one of them. Always check your own checklist first.

Four Stages Between Your Upload and a Notary-Stamped Transcript

Four short stages turn your foreign transcript into a notarized English translation of a transcript. If it is going abroad, we can also plan an apostille for an overseas university after the notary seal.

Hire Notarized Translator
  1. Step 1: Send Every Page

Upload a clear scan or photo of all pages of your transcript, front and back. The back often holds the grading key, so please do not skip it. Tell us who will read the translation, like ICA, a school or a board. Also tell us how your name is spelled in your passport, so we can match it on every page.

  2. Step 2: Get a Free Page Count

We count the pages that need work and send you a free quote with a clear delivery date. If some files are only for reference, we say so and leave them out of the count. You see everything before you agree. Then pay by Visa, Mastercard, PayNow or PayLah, and we start work on your transcript.

  3. Step 3: Translate, Check, Notarise

A translator who knows the school system of your country builds the English table row by row. A second person checks every grade, credit and date against the original. Then a Notary Public registered with the Singapore Academy of Law signs the notarial certificate and seals the set. Now your transcript is an official English set.

  4. Step 4: Receive Soft and Hard Copies

We email you a soft copy of the sealed set, so you can upload it online straight away. The hard copy comes by courier to any address in Singapore, or you can collect it at Suntec Tower One. Most transcripts are done in 2 to 3 working days. Ask for express if you need yours in 24 hours.

Transcript Languages Our Singapore Team Notarises Most Often

Most transcripts we see come in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai and Bahasa Indonesia. We also do many in German, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. In total, our transcript translation notarised in Singapore covers more than 200 languages, so rare ones are welcome too.

We can also go the other way. If your Singapore school gave you an English transcript and you need it in Chinese, Japanese or another language for study abroad, we translate it and have it notarised. Some countries then ask for embassy legalisation of your translated transcript as a last step.

Long school records need planning. These stories show what to sort out before your transcript translation sealed by a notary is made, and how the old MFA legalisation route now works through SAL.

Transcript Translation and Notary Questions Our Clients Often Send

Yes. Just tell us which file is the main one. We make a notarised transcript translation of that file only and treat the rest as reference. Reference files help us check your name and school name, but they are not counted in your quote. If ICA later asks for the other papers too, send them over and we will add them.
Yes, we strongly suggest it. The key tells the reader what your grades mean, like what an A or a 4.0 stands for. Without it, an officer may not understand your results. We count the back page as part of the transcript and translate it with the front, so the meaning of every grade is clear.
Usually yes, if any part is not in English. Offices want every word on the page to be readable, including stamps, notes and the grading key. We translate the parts that are not in English and keep the English parts as they are. The notary then seals the whole set, so nothing on the page is left unclear.
If the office asks for your full transcript, then yes. Skipping pages can make the record look incomplete, and the officer may send it back. Long transcripts are normal for us and do not slow the work much. If you think only some pages are needed, show us the office's letter and we will tell you honestly what to include.
No. We translate each course name faithfully, close to what the original says. We do not rename it to look like a local course, because that would change your record. If a title has no simple match in English, we pick the clearest plain words and may add the original term in brackets so the reader can compare.
No. A translator copies your grades exactly as they appear. Changing them into another scale is called grade conversion, and only the school or office reading your file can do that. We keep every number, letter and word as it is, and we translate the grading key so the reader can make their own check.
Yes, a clear scan or photo of every page is usually fine for the translation. The notary signs the translation, not your original. Some offices still want to see your original transcript when you submit, so keep it ready. Make sure the scan shows all four edges, every stamp and the back page too.
They are two different papers, so we translate each one on its own. You can still order them together in one go, and we keep your name spelled the same on both. Many PR applicants send both at once. Tell us what your checklist says, and we will make sure each paper is notarised the way the office expects.
Yes. After the notary seals your translation, the set can go to the Singapore Academy of Law for an apostille, if the country is in the Apostille Convention. Read how SAL authentication of a notarised translation works, then tell us the country so we can plan the right steps from the start.
No. The notary confirms the translator's statement and signature, and seals the translation. The notary does not check your grades with your school. If an office wants proof that your transcript is genuine, it will ask your school or a checking service directly. Our job is to make sure the English version matches your paper exactly.
