If you have searched for notarized translation prices in Singapore, you have probably seen a wide range of numbers. One agency says SGD 50. Another says SGD 200. Another gives no price at all and just says “contact us.”
The reason prices vary is simple — you are not always comparing the same thing.
Some agencies quote only the translation fee. Some include notarization. Some charge extra for SAL authentication, express delivery, or physical copies. Some charge per word. Some charge per page. Some charge a flat rate per document.
This guide breaks down exactly what you are paying for, what each service costs, and what affects the final price — so you can plan your budget before you contact anyone.
What Are You Paying For? The 3 Parts of a Notarized Translation
Before looking at prices, understand what the full service includes:
Part 1 — Translation
A qualified translator converts your document from its original language into English. This is charged either per word, per page, or as a flat rate per document depending on the agency and document type.
Part 2 — Notarization
A SAL-registered notary public in Singapore reviews the translation, signs it, and stamps it with the official notary seal. This is a separate fee on top of translation. Without this step, your document is not legally valid for ICA, MoM, IRAS, or any other government body.
Part 3 — SAL Authentication (if needed)
This is an optional additional step. SAL authentication is done by the Singapore Academy of Law and is usually needed for citizenship applications or overseas use. It is not always required — but when it is, it adds to the total cost.
Most people need Part 1 and Part 2. Part 3 depends on your specific situation.
Price Breakdown by Document Type
Birth Certificate
A standard birth certificate is usually one page. It is the most common document we handle.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 50
- Express 24-hour service: additional charge
- If both front and back have content: may be priced as 2 pages
Birth certificates are straightforward. The price stays at the lower end unless the document is very dense with text, or the language is a rare one.
Marriage Certificate
Marriage certificates are also usually one page but sometimes come with additional annexures or official stamps that need to be covered.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 60 to SGD 100 depending on length and language
- Divorce certificates follow a similar price range
Academic Transcripts and University Degrees
Academic documents vary a lot in length. A degree certificate is usually one page. A full academic transcript can be 4 to 10 pages or more depending on how many semesters it covers.
- Degree certificate — translation + notarization: from SGD 60
- Academic transcript — priced per page, typically SGD 30 to SGD 50 per page
- Grade statement — similar to degree certificate, from SGD 60
If you need multiple academic documents notarized together — for example, a degree plus a full transcript — ask about combined pricing. Handling multiple documents at once is often more cost-effective.
Our university degree notarized translation services cover all universities and all languages.
Employment Contracts
Employment contracts are usually multi-page documents — anywhere from 3 to 20 pages depending on how detailed they are.
- Translation + notarization: SGD 30 to SGD 50 per page
- A 5-page contract would typically cost between SGD 150 and SGD 250
- Payslips are shorter — usually priced per document or per set
Financial Statements and Bank Documents
Financial statements, bank statements, and income tax documents from overseas fall into this category.
- Short documents (1 to 2 pages): from SGD 60 to SGD 80
- Multi-page financial reports: SGD 30 to SGD 50 per page
For IRAS submissions specifically, documents need to meet a certain standard of accuracy because numbers and financial terms must be precise. Our financial statement notarized translation service covers all types of financial documents for IRAS and bank submissions.
Driving Licence
A driving licence is a small document — usually just the front and back of a card. It is one of the cheapest documents to get translated.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 50
- This covers the official translation needed for Singapore Traffic Police and LTA when you are converting a foreign licence
Wills, Power of Attorney, and Legal Documents
Legal documents like wills, power of attorney documents, and affidavits are priced higher because they require extra care with legal terminology.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 100 to SGD 200 depending on length
- These documents are sensitive and must be handled with precision
Medical Reports
Medical reports vary in length. A one-page diagnosis summary is quick. A full hospital discharge report can run several pages.
- Short medical documents: from SGD 60 to SGD 80
- Longer reports: SGD 30 to SGD 50 per page
Property Documents
Property deeds, sale agreements, and title documents are often detailed legal documents.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 80 to SGD 150 for standard property documents
- Longer agreements: priced per page
Business Documents
Business agreements, ACRA documents, memorandums, and company constitutions are in this category.
- Translation + notarization: from SGD 80 for short business documents
- Multi-page agreements: SGD 30 to SGD 50 per page
What Makes the Price Go Higher?
Knowing what pushes the price up helps you plan better.
Language pair–
Common language pairs — Malay to English, Chinese to English, Indonesian to English — are priced at the lower end because we have translators readily available. Rare languages — Estonian, Latin, Czech, Punjabi, Hungarian — may cost more because specialist translators are needed.
Document length–
More pages means more translation work and more time for the notary public to review. A 10-page document will always cost more than a 1-page document.
Handwritten documents–
Handwritten text takes longer to read and translate than printed text. If your document is handwritten — especially old handwritten records — the price may be slightly higher.
Express service–
Standard delivery is 2 to 3 working days. If you need your document in 24 hours, express service is available at an additional charge. The express charge varies by document type but typically adds SGD 30 to SGD 80 on top of the standard price.
SAL authentication–
If your document needs SAL authentication in addition to notarization — for citizenship applications or overseas submissions — this is an additional cost. SAL sets their own fees for this service and we will confirm the exact amount when we review your document.
Number of certified copies–
Some submissions require multiple certified copies of the same translated document — for example, if you are submitting to two different government agencies. Each additional certified copy has a small additional fee.
What Is NOT Included in the Price
To avoid surprises, here is what is generally not included in the base quote:
- Courier or delivery fees — if you need physical documents sent to your address
- SAL authentication fees — quoted separately if needed
- Government fees — if any government body charges a processing fee directly
- Extra certified copies — beyond the standard one copy
We always give you the full breakdown before starting work. You will know the total cost before you commit.
How to Get an Accurate Quote
The fastest way to get an exact price is to send your document to our notary public translation service. Here’s what to do:
- Take a clear photo or scan of your document — both front and back
- Send it to us via WhatsApp or email
- Tell us what it is for — PR application, citizenship, MoM submission, overseas use
- We will come back with the exact price and timeline within a few hours
The reason we ask what it is for — the purpose affects whether SAL authentication is needed. A document for a PR application may need only notarization. The same document for a citizenship application may need SAL authentication too. Knowing the purpose upfront means you get the right service, not more and not less.
Comparing Prices — What to Watch Out For
When you compare quotes from different agencies, check these things:
Does the price include notarization or just translation?
A translation-only price looks cheap but is not complete. ICA needs the notary seal. Make sure notarization is included.
Is the notary SAL-registered?
This matters. A notary who is not SAL-registered cannot produce a legally valid notarized translation for Singapore government bodies. Always confirm this before paying.
Are there hidden charges after you submit?
Some agencies quote a low price and then add charges for the certification page, physical copy, or revision. Ask upfront what the final all-in price is.
Is express service actually available?
Some agencies say express but cannot actually deliver in 24 hours. If you have a tight deadline, confirm the actual delivery date before placing your order.
